Speakers Overview
Area: Clinical Practice—Hearing Aids: Verification Measures
Speaker: Lindsey Jorgensen, Au.D., Ph.D.

Title: Confirm or Deny: Common Mistakes While Verifying Hearing Aids
Time: 2 hours
Synopsis: All answers, no judgements - hearing aid feature verification. This is a Tier 1 course.
Back by popular demand, and with hands-on-training GUARANTEED!
This session will focus on two parts. First, we will survey the GAA members about their questions regarding hearing aid verification and, hopefully, provide the answers to burning questions. Second, we will talk about patient complaints and concerns. These are going to be driven by our experiences both the GAA members’ and the presenter’s. We will talk about those concerns, what features may benefit those patients, and then how to verify those features. This seminar will also include a hands-on component of verification based on what we talked about and the membership feedback.
Area: Professional and personal growth
Speaker: Natalie Phillips, Au.D.

Title: Achieving Growth by Taking Massive Action
Time: 1 hour
Synopsis: As audiologists, to stay relevant and grow our practices, we have to be proactive and take ACTion. This can be done by focusing and learning about a leadership mindset of growth and what it means to be a successful leader. We are all acting as leaders with our patients,co-workers and colleagues, even if we don't officially have a leadership role. Taking action also requires strategy and this course walks you through best practices in taking action through mindset shifts and goalsetting activities.
AND
Title: Cultivating a Culture of Connection
Time: 1 hour
Synopsis: Connection is important as audiologists for many reasons. As team members and leaders in departments, practices, and businesses as well as mentors for students, we connect to improve our teams which improves our ability to serve our patients. In addition, connection is needed to build rapport by understanding and building trust with those whom we provide services. We educate our patients about the differences between hearing and listening, but connection is the true gift that we return to the lives of our patients, therefore, this course will teach the participants that we are not “just” audiologists that return hearing, but we are “connectors”.
Area: Ethics
Speaker: Michael D. Page, Au.D.

Title: The Ethics and Impact of How Patients Perceive Us
Time: 2 hours
Synopsis: Is perception reality? Why do patient perceptions matter? Will perceptions have an impact upon referrals, social media reviews, reimbursement, and even ethics? How do ethics interface with perceptions? This compelling and engaging presentation will explore personal values which impact patient perceptions, professional behavior, and the ultimate ethics of our practice engagement.
